Busy, busy, busy

This past week was full to the max.  We had Trae's last high school game of the season, his drama 3 play, Jamison's 6th grade play, a scrimmage and a game for Jamison, and a game for Mason.  Add in Bekham's nonsense and we didn't stop.

Trae's team won their last lacrosse game making it an undefeated season for the freshman/sophomore team.
He also did an amazing job in his play.  I will have to upload what I was able to record before the camera died and Bekham lost his mind.  Bekham is turning into that child that should not be let out in public.  I always thought it was the parenting, but I have to say that I'm beginning to believe that SOME of the "wild childs" are born and not necessarily made that way.  Bekham ran away from me at the play, ran across the front of the stage and then proceeded to climb the stage where he could be seen doing a little dance and screaming "neener-neener-neener".  I have to admit I was so horrified that I hid in the shadows and pretended that I didn't know the child.  He just went further downhill after that and I spent the rest of the time hiding in the hallway with a half-crazed toddler.

Jamison's play was the following day and did a great job with his lines and dancing.  It was a pretty comical play.... Bekham was left home in Trae's care this day.  I was not wanting a repeat performance from him.

So I have had great difficulty with the youngest Smith boy.  We laugh because otherwise we will cry at his antics.  I think we cursed ourselves when he had Mason and insisted that a child could not get naughtier.... oh, boy were we wrong.

Last week I found him on the kitchen counter and when I tried to get him down he proceeded to grab spices and medicine bottles to hurl at my head....  My  house smelled like cumin the rest of the day...

Saturday morning while I was putting on my makeup I heard Jamison screaming and came into the living room to see Bekham high tailing it out the back door with his lacrosse stick.  I then realized that he was wearing Jamison's shooter shirt (head in sleeve) and had left a trail of baby powder on the walls, floor, shirt, and couch down the hallway, across the living room, and proceeding into the kitchen.  When Bekham was approached outside he welded his lacrosse stick like a sword and I have to admit I was whacked a few times with that dang thing.

Today he was found getting into the fridge.  When asked to close the door and get out I had coffee creamer thrown at me, which exploded like a grenade in the middle of my kitchen.  Sorry, no pictures for that little fiasco, but keep scrolling and you will see which direction this day kept heading....

And here you will see Bekham grinning like the rascal he is.  He decided to paint his toenails while I was trying to reserve our camping spot... I guess he decided the cabinet, counter, floor, hands, arms, and legs needed a bit of color as well.

I had an amazing Mother's Day.  Jamie grabbed breakfast for us.  I made steaks, hot potato salad and the most fattening, delicious red velvet poke cake.  We took it to Mom and Dad's because Dad is still recovering from his 2nd shoulder surgery.  Jamie bought me new running shoes and I'm excited to try them out once my feet are back to normal..  I have had some major swelling of my feet and I think I have pinpointed it to my daily steroid inhaler.  Thank goodness Jamison isn't having those symptoms with his, although the poor guy sounds like he is headed towards pneumonia.

EDIT:  I figured I might as well add on to my day seeing that I just got off the phone with poison control.  Bekham has decided that nail polish is nasty after taking a big swig.  I had it left out because I needed to take it back to my neighbor who was kind enough to loan it to me after this morning's fiasco.  This kid is with me almost 24 hours a day and I still don't know how he finds time to pull all this crap off!  Anyway, all is fine and for your future FYI it will only give him a tummy ache, if that.  I think I may have to get a leash and leash him to my side from now on before he gives me a heart attack!....

High school lacrosse season coming to an end

It is Roy High's last lacrosse game tonight of the season.  I'm actually pretty upset about it.  It means that Trae is getting that much closer to high school and growing up.  I am not ready at all for this.  This season has been a busy, amazing, learning experience.  I'm so thankful that we are able to be so involved.  I need to finish planning for the end of season banquet next week, which I know the boys are very excited about.  Next year, they will finally be able to letter because they can have their first varsity team!

This weekend after 4 games, we went to our neighbors to have a goodbye party for another neighbor.  While there another neighbor got an offer on their home.  UGH!  We are loosing 2 neighbors this month.  I'm so bummed.  We have such an amazing neighborhood and these 2 neighbors mean so much to us.  It is always hard to say goodbye.

I have been working hard on myself to get in shape.  I'm afraid it is a very slow process that I'm glad I have never had to experience before now.  I'm learning about asthma during this journey and how I have it.  Can you believe I'm having to experience first hand as an adult?  I learned the hard way that I'm not ready for Insanity quite yet... and after having to go have a steroid breathing treatment, I tried it again the next day just to be sure...  Yeah, I'm sure now.  Maybe I'll try it again in a few months.  Haha!  I never knew how hard it is to bounce back from an asthma attack followed by breathing treatments.  So, after a week off, I started out with some HipHop Abs and Moms Into Fitness Fierce Plyometrics DVD.... and I only had to use my handy dandy inhaler once...  Gives me a whole different perspective on poor Jamison's asthma.

Sorry, most of my pictures will be lacrosse, but as I have said before, that is what happens when it is your life!  Haha!

Another week of lacrosse games.

Okay, so truly lacrosse is all we have right now.  Sunday to Sunday it is lacrosse.  This week we have 6 games between the 3 boys, plus meetings and practices.  I'm pooped to say the least!  Actually, Jamie is off painting the field at this very moment for tonight's lacrosse game!

We were busy this weekend putting together the chicken coop.  I'd take a picture but that would require me to go outside in the cold and I'm just not feeling it today.  Just know we finally got it taken care of and already, Bekham has climbed inside to chase the chickens and scratch his face up.

It's my mother in laws birthday today.  She is seriously amazing!  We are so lucky to have her in our lives.  She came to our rescue yesterday when she found out that Jamison was going to be babysitting Bekham for the first time for several hours while I took Mason to his doctor appointment at Primary Children's Hospital.   Sounds like Bekham took an extra long nap and Mary and Jamison got to spend some time together watching a scary movie.  Haha!

Bekham dancing in a tutu...

Happy Late Easter!

We had a great Easter!  We missed seeing Mary and Wess, but the poor Nana was sicker than sick.  We started our day with an egg hung before heading off to church where Jamison was ordained to the priesthood by his Grandpa Judy.  I'm so proud of him and this huge choice he has made.

This would be Trae who decided it would be a fun idea to go through the tunnel...
Bekham got a hold of my phone and decided to take a self portrait.
Jamison had a fun, wild, crazy, never again sleepover for his birthday with a group of his buddies.  I think it got a bit out of hand at 1:00 a.m......
He could not find any invites, so he decided to go with some princess ones and this is what he ended up getting as a present!  So well deserved!
And here is Mason trying on the gag gift of fingernails...
After all the fun is done, it is back to lacrosse business.  We have lacrosse Monday through Saturday and sometimes even Sunday.  It has made us poor moneywise, but I would never trade the time that it gives us with the kids.

Rare moment of happiness from Bekham... although, I do believe that immediately following this picture he was dragged off of the playing field kicking and screaming....

Happy Birthday, Jamison!

It is Jamison's 12th birthday today.  He is now old enough to go to the Young Men's class and hold the priesthood.  Next school year, he will be moving into the big jr high school.  ... Now if those aren't scary thoughts I don't know what else could be.  Unfortunately, he gets to celebrate his birthday watching his brother play lacrosse and freezing in the cold temps and snow.  Next week he'll get his own birthday party.

Life is moving quickly.  I say that every time I get on here to post, but it really is.  With the 3 older boys all playing lacrosse this year, Jamie is the head coach of Mason's team, helping coach 2 other teams, plus field manager and stat taker for the high school team, and me being on the high school lacrosse board our lives are now officially consumed with lacrosse.

Bekham is proving to be the child that is blowing his brothers out of the water with his naughtiness.  You know those children that scream and throw themselves down in the store aisle?  Well, I always thought it was a discipline thing... (and some of them obviously are), but he is proving that theory incorrect...  He is the child that just scaled the cupboards while I was picking up his empty water cups off the table and throughout the house (think of the movie Signs here) so he could eat a chocolate exlax...  He is the child who escaped outside and I had to chase and capture kicking and screaming while in my sports bra (I was then seen by my neighbor who wanted to have a conversation with me)... He is the child who you can hear screaming every time we are out in public (and in the house), but most especially at the lacrosse games and practices...  He is my child who slammed the pantry door open and put a hole in it... He is talented enough to scream straight through most of the day and half of the night and still have a voice... Yes, all of these things have happened this week alone.   Oh I forgot to mention that this is also the child that decided to join me running on the treadmill...  But he is an adorable hat model!
