I was just thinking I should update this and when is a better time than now... right between the kids throwing up. It is so easy to clean up the germs when you go out and about, but I have now found out it is harder when someone brings the germs to your house. I have to laugh because I didn't let them come into my home, but instead led them around to the backyard. So they left us with germs instead of the promised money for the items they wanted to purchase. Which the little topic of selling things on KSL could lead me into a whole different fit. If you don't have the money for the items don't call, if you plan on not showing up for your appointed time don't call, but still people continued to call. So many callers. Luckily, I can now take a deep breath and realize that the items are all sold and paid for.
So back to the throw-up. My poor Mas was off kilter this morning and would just stand in the doorway and get sick. I finally gave him a little lecture about how he was old enough to make it into the bathroom before getting sick. Which then led him to be sick on the bathroom rug. Another lecture later, I saw him run into the bathroom holding his little lips together until he could make it to the toilet. Poor guy.
Now that I've entertained you and disgusted you with one of my child's issues this morning. I will say good-bye for now.

German Pancakes/ Dutch Babies

Today I was thinking I would add my kids' favorite breakfast item. It is referred to by many names: puff pancakes, dutch babies, german pancakes. No matter the name, they are pretty good and very simple to make.
1 1/2 C flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 C milk
1 1/2 Tbsp sugar or honey
6 eggs
6 Tbsp butter
Turn on oven to 425*. Place butter in 9 x 13 pan and place in oven and allow to melt.
While melting the butter, mix the remaining ingredients. Pour over the melted butter and cook for 25 minutes. We like to sprinkle powdered sugar over it and then drizzle syrup over top.

"Here comes Sleeping Beauty!" Mason proclaimed as he ran into my room. "No, just kidding it's underwear" He giggles and then announces "It's just Mason!" He is a million laughs rolled into one... well, not one pair of underwear obviously. I'm thinking maybe 5 pairs of underwear. Trae at this moment is busy forwarding this picture to all of his friends via phone. He is one proud brother.
We had such a great time at the pool yesterday! Thank you Kara, "the girls", and her sweet birthday Mom. The kids were all on their best behavior. I only had to throw one child into the pool for being a stinker. They spent most the afternoon building a cruise ship, which then became an island, and finally a fort out of all the floating things they could get their little hands on. Such big imaginations.
So the quote I saw today wasn't very nice, but it made me laugh: "Some people are like Slinky’s. Pretty much useless but make you smile when you push them down the stairs."

I am sitting here drinking my lovely iced coffee and am thinking I should confess my secret. I just can't believe I pulled it off. Jamie has this set of earphones for his xbox. He has gone through 3 others and this is because he leaves them out for the dogs to eat. He decided for this 4th pair that he was going to get a wireless pair and that would solve that issue with the dogs. Well, he still doesn't put them away, but the dogs have ignored them for the past 2 months. Yesterday the kids let the puppy inside while they were out swimming and when I came inside to answer the business line I found this new headset strewn across the entire house. The foam earpieces were no more. The microphone foam piece was shredded into tiny pieces. My heart dropped, but then I started thinking. I realized that I had kept his old set and this was going to be the answer to my problem. I was able to piece that new headset back together and it looks as good as new. Jamie got in bed last night to play a few games and as I held my breath in anticipation he didn't notice a thing!
I know I had some funny things to say about the kids, but my brain has not turned on yet this morning. There is no need for it. I am going to sit next to my friend's pool today, relax, take whatever business calls come my way, and enjoy the day ahead. I will tell you this "we are not surrounded by ghosts, but by lots and lots of spirits" this was told to me today by Jamison while watching Ghostbusters.
Quote for today: "To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funnybone."

Yesterday was such a long day with the boys. Mason cried over things that just were so unrealistic. He cried because his brother's pancake was "puppy". Now really, "puppy"? I tried to make him explain, but he was crying too hard. He finally sat and ate, but this is how he was the entire day. Trae could not seem to keep his hands to himself. This is an ongoing problem, but it seems to escalate while he is in the pool. He feels it is his duty to throw his brothers around. He even went as far as to jump on the lounge floater, land on Mason's head, and still felt that this was Mason's fault for getting in the way of his butt. Our day ended with Jamie searching for motorcycles. hmmm.... Need I continue?....
My quote of the day: "Expecting life to treat you well because you are a good person is like expecting an angry bull not to charge because you are a vegetarian."

Trae, Mason, Jamison swimming in Nana's poolI was hoping for something fun and exciting to start out my blog, but I got nothin. All last week I kept hearing the word "blogging" being brought up by my cousins and aunts and thought maybe I should start my own. I know I enjoy seeing the updates of those that I do follow.
I haven't really been myself since the loss of my cousin one week ago, but I know with time I can find my path. At least the sun is shining and the kids are laughing... when they aren't busy beating the living daylights out of one another. Love those boys.
